Train Smarter with MantisX

Real-time feedback. Measurable results. Better performance — on or off the range.

What is MantisX?

The MantisX is a training device that attaches to your firearm and analyzes your performance in real time. It’s a bluetooth-enabled accelerometer that attaches to a Picatinny rail on your firearm frame (or magazine baseplate) that senses and tracks:

• Trigger control & muzzle movement

• Draw & holster presentation

• Shot timing & rhythm

• Recoil & recovery (live fire)

Use it in dry fire or live fire, at home or on the range — and get actionable data instantly.

Why I Use MantisX

Honestly I am pretty jaded about gadgets that promise to improve your shooting at home. Many of them represent an unnecessary expense for new shooters and create more bad habits than good ones. I don’t waste time and money on technology for its own sake — I use what works.

While I am a relatively new user of the MantisX X10 Elite unit, I’ve already put in a lot of time. MantisX has quickly earned its place in my training toolbox through proven results with both myself and my onsite and even remote clients.

🧠 Accelerates learning – Helps identify and fix errors fast

📊 Data-driven coaching – Every rep recorded, every mistake visible

🧍 Personalized feedback – Integrated into our remote or in-person coaching

🔄 Works anywhere – Train with purpose even when you’re not at the range

⚔️ Varied Challenges - Test your grip, trigger, single hand shooting, speed, holster draws, reloads, decison-making and more.

Mantis X doesn’t measure shot placement — but it measures what leads to shot placement. It exposes bad habits, tracks your progress, and lets you practice with intent. That’s what makes it powerful.

The badge system is no joke. Earning the various badges requires you to program in neuro-muscular patterns that are useful for performance shooting.

My Experience with Mantis X

Over the few weeks I’ve executed about 4,000 dry fire reps and over 500 drills, earning badges in:

  • Marksmanship (Basic, Advanced and Elite)

  • Combat (Basic, Advanced and Elite)

  • Concealed Carry Weapon (Basic and Advanced)

  • Double Action Diligence

I am currently working on the final Elite level badge for Concealed Carry. I’ve pushed the platform hard, learning its strengths and weaknesses. While doing so I challenged myself with many different types of drills under demanding requirements for accuracy, speed, consistency, draws, reloads, decision making and more. I’ve learned not only how to use this tool to train myself, but also how to help my onsite-site and remote clients get the most from this tool.

While many have expressed varying opinions on this technology, ew have put as much effort into putting it through its paces as I have. Not all of my testing has been with pistols.

My first badge came the other day and I’m not gonna lie, It’s pretty cool. I am not big into technology, but this has been a game changer

Broaden Your Training Methods

Save Time. Save Money. Build Muscle Memory.

Look, I’ll be the first to tell you that you don’t need a lot of fancy tools or technology to practice at home. Top tier competition shooters like Ben Stoeger, Steve Anderson and others have cracked the code for using dry fire to improve your shooting skills and improve performance at even the highest levels. Buy a a starter kit with a book and some scaled-down targets and get to work.

Shooting is a lot like making music - you have to practice. The finest music instructor in the world can’t do much for a student that doesn’t practice. BUT, live fire practice is expensive and time consuming. Fortunately there are other practice modalities like dry fire, dry fire assisted with a technology like MantisX, and virtual fire using technology such as Ace Virtual Shooting on the Meta Quest 3.

Occasionally technology comes along that is, in my opinion, a game changer - especially for new shooters. Even for experience shooters, MantisX allows you a mechanism for quantifying results and holding yourself accountable. For example, have you ever wished that you could improve your scores shooting a B8 target at 25 yards? How about your dominant and non-dominant hand shooting skills? Are you chasing the elusive sub-second draw from concealment - trying to put hits in an 8” circle at 7 yards? Using MantisX can help - both off and on the range.

Whether you’re brand new to shooting or want to tighten your draw and split times, Mantis X is an effective way to sharpen your edge.
